– Hey everybody, how are you? It’s Jeff Gellman, of Solid K9 Training, with my What Would Jeff Do? Dog Training Tip of the Day, tip number 25. Every day in 2018, I’m gonna give you a dog training tip posted up on all my social media platforms. We did a video today on Facebook Live of slowing a dog down. That’s the tip of the day, slow your dog down. When you’re doing your heels, when you’re practicing your heels and your auto-sit, a lot of people want to go fast. They try to stay up with the dog. What I want everybody to do, is I want you to do variable speeds on your heeling. I want you to walk, like literally, like step by step by step by step. It’s so hard for people to do. Even your high-drive dogs, “No, Jeff, I’ve gotta give my dog exercise for an hour. “I need to go four miles.” It’s not about the mileage, it’s about the mental exercise as well. Trust me, play chuck-it, play Frisbee, run off leash, but when you’re heeling, obviously you can go your three miles per hour if you want to, but I want you also to practice going really, really slow. Watch the video on Facebook Live, you’ll better understand. Jeff Gellman, Solid K9 Training with my What Would Jeff Do? tip of the day, tip number 25, slow it all down. I’m madly in love with you and I will see you tomorrow. .
