Hi, my name is Mary with expertvillage.com. We’re going to continue talking about the spine today. There’s a second technique that you want to use for the spine you have to even be more careful of than the first technique I talked about because you’re going to go over the spine itself. You’re going to position your thumbs one on top of the other and gently, very slowly, roll your thumbs right down the spine. As you get to in between each vertebrae, you’re going to go in there very gently, just kind of wiggle around a little bit. Now obviously if you have a longer haired dog, this is going to be a little bit harder until you kind of get used to it. Oh, by the way, if you hear little noises in the background, that’s my other dog. She’s in another room waiting for her massage and she’s pretty anxious to get it.So you slowly go down, you can go ahead and make little circular motions. After a while, you might want to go ahead and walk your thumbs, end up doing what’s best, what works best for you and what seems to work best for your dog. This sort of thing is a good way to tell if your dog is out of alignment, especially if you have a dog without a whole lot of fur on it. .
