I’m Cat Cummings, a Martin J. Whitman School of Management student and a triple major in economics, advertisement and retail management at Syracuse University. Every morning I leave my house at 8:30 a.m., check my calendar and head to class at Whitman. There are so many opportunities at Whitman that my calendar is always full. After class, I chat with my professor. Being taught by so many empowering professionals inspires me so much. Now, I’m off to a team room to work on research and assignments with classmates. The team rooms are equipped with everything I need. After about an hour, I pack up my things and go to my advertisement class in Newhouse. When class is over, I visit the cafe at Whitman where I have lunch and Skype call with my study abroad professor to discuss summer opportunities; after my first time studying in Italy I always wanted to go back. Next, I visit a Whitman Career Center advisor to discuss job offers and debrief the staff on my internship with Saks Fifth Avenue. The Career Center provides endless support and always leads me in the right direction. Now, it’s time to give a tour. As a Whitman Ambassador, I get to share my experiences and show off our beautiful campus to prospective students and their families. When the tour ends, I catch up with my friends. With all the clubs and activities on campus, it’s easy to build life-long friendships and feel at home. Now it’s back to the house to catch up with my roommates, eat dinner, study and get ready for another busy day. .
